Simone Cappello (IAMC-CNR of Messina)



Dr. Simone Cappello graduated in “Biological Science” at the University of Messina (Italy) and he got the PhD in "Science and Engineering of the Sea" (XVII cycle) at the University of Naples "Federico II " (Italy).
Dr. Simone Cappello is a Researcher at the National Research Council, in the service of the Institute for Coastal Marine Environment (IAMC) of Messina. 
Dr. Cappello is a active member of the "Marine of Molecular Microbiology and Biotechnology (M3B) Laboratory" and, in the same Institute, is Responsible of "Bioremediation, General Applied Microbiology & Ecotoxicology Section "(BIO-GAMES). 
The scientific activity of Dr. Simone Cappello is witnessed by more than 32 publications, 11 chapters in different books and/or volumes, more than 60  poster and/or oral communications in National and International conferences with a total impact factor of about 60 and an H index equal to 12.
Dr. Simone Cappello has participate (as research) in different National and European Project (e.g. BIODEEP, PON-SABIE, MAGIC-PAH, ULIXES and KILL-SPILL) having as main topics microbial biotechnology and optimization of bioremediation techniques; Dr. Cappello is also local coordinator for the operative unit of IAMC-CNR of Messina of two National Operative Project PON2012-2015 (SEAPORT and STI-TAM), of a National Interest Research Program (PRIN2010-11), a Project/Agreement with ISPRA (“Marine Strategy”) and an order of research funded by ENI S.p.A.

Alessandro Pistone (University of Messina)



In 1996, he graduated in “Industrial Chemistry” at the University of Messina and in 1999 he received the title of Doctor of Philosophy in "Chemistry of materials for special purposes." Since 2006 he is serving as an assistant professor (SSD ING-IND/22: "Science and Technology of Materials") at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Chemistry and Engineering. His research is focused for several years on nanotechnology and in particular on the synthesis and functionalization of carbon nanotubes for applications in various fields of materials technology, including the synthesis and characterization of polymer composites with fillers based of carbon nanotubes. The experience is documented by over 130 scientific publications in international journals and conference proceedings that national and international.

Daniela Iannazzo (University of Messina)




Dr Daniela Iannazzo, Researcher at the Department of Electronic Engineering, Industrial Chemistry and Engineering at University of Messina, Italy, was graduated in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Messina in 1995. In 1998 she obtained the PhD qualification in Pharmaceutical Sciences and in 2001 the postgraduate qualification in Applied Microbiology. Her scientific activity is related to various synthetic methodologies for organic synthesis, the chemistry of heterocyclic compounds and the design and synthesis of biologically active substances. Her research focuses also on the functionalization chemistry of carbon nanomaterials (graphene and carbon nanotubes) for applications in materials science and in biomedical fields, such as sensing applications, drug delivery systems and tissue engineering.

Anna Maria Visco (University of Messina)


Visco AnnaMaria is a Researcher and Aggregate professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Chemistry and Industrial Engineering ( DIECII) of messina University.  1998-present : the activity was developed on various issues related to all fields of study of polymeric materials; in particular it concerns about the modification and chemical-physical-mechanical characterization of polymeric blends, nanocomposites and advanced composite materials for a variety of applications (from the biomedical to the naval, from the automotive to the domestic appliances or electronic field).  The total number of citations as reported in Science Citation Index in the period 1997-today is above 1300, with an h-index of 17.

Giuseppe Mancini (University of Catania)



Giuseppe Mancini is a Senior Researcher in Chemical Plants at University of Catania. He graduated cum Laude in “Civil Engineering” at University of Catania, Italy, in 1994; he got the Ph.D. in “Environmental Sanitary Engineering” at the Polytechnic of Milan, in 2000 and graduated cum Laude in Environmental Engineering at the “La Sapienza” University of Rome, Italy, in 2001.
He is author of more than 90 published papers in the field of Environmental Engineering and Chemical Engineering and University and his present research interests are mainly directed towards the marine environment and biotechnology and soil and sediment remediation.
He was National Coordinator for the Project “Water bodies protection from xenobiotc compounds: new methods for the analysis, the control and the treatment in civil and industrial wastewaters” (PRIN2007) and he is Local Coordinator for different National Operative Project (PON2012-2015) and National Interest Research Program (PRIN 2010-2011).
