In accordancing to the aims of the Project, will be intensified existing collaborations with some foreign institutions such as:
i) School of Biological Science, University of Bangor (UK), in the person of Prof. Peter N. Golyshin;
ii) Dep. of Biology, University of Kerman (Iran), in the person of Prof. Mehdi Hassanshahian;
iii) Laboratoire Laboratoire Biotechnologie & Valorisation des Ressources Bio-Géo (BVBGR - LR11ES31) Institute of Biotechnology of Sidi Thabet (Tunisia), in the person of Prof. Ameur Cherif.
All these Institutes are at the forefront in the study of the processes of bioremediation and application of bacterial species for the recovery of contaminated matrices.
Contribution to the project are expected also from:
i) Dep. of Environmental Engineering, Namik Kemal University (Turkey) coordinated by Prof. Dr. Süreyya Meriç Pagano
that will collaborate to the research methods to treat water/wastewater including a pre-treatment through gravity separation, chemical precipitation and the biological phase.
Namik Kemal University research Group will focus on the removal of potentially present xenobiotics such as metals on which the group has developed technical and scientific expertise by national and international projects and technical implications as well as in respirometric test procedures.
